This occurrence happens every time and I usually didn’t have issues with it. When the numbing shot wore off I was in extreme pain again so I decided to take a couple of the percocets I had left over and FINALLY I felt some relief. They decided to keep me for 2 nights because continued giving me time release morphine tablets an hooked a morphine machine up to my IV line so I could push a button and get 1.5 mg every 10 minutes. They gave me 6 shots into my IV line for a total of 35mg over a 45 minute time period with no pain relief (it was the most painful experience of my life.) They eventually gave me a shot that just numbed my leg from the knee down. I had my surgery 2 days ago (2 plates and a bunch of screws) and again, they gave morphine in the recovery room. They sent me home from the hospital with a shitload of percocet (5/325) and I was good to go until my surgery. I smoke it to eradicate nausea and vomiting that has never received a medical diagnosis because the condition can't be determined by medical professionals. I wonder if medical marijuana is more medical and less marijuana. At that point it hadn't occurred to me that it the morphine wasn't working, I just figured I broke my ankle really, REALLY badly and That's why I was in so much pain. Most of the time, though, it has no effect, so I get neither high or stoned. I was screaming and crying pain for almost 2 hours before they decides to give me something else and the pain subsided. I went into the ER and was given liquid morphine through my IV line 4 or 5 times but it did absolutely nothing for the pain. So I broke my ankle really badly recently. In two highly powered studies (total N 1617), we showed that individuals estimated that they would stop earlier than others in a Milgram-like biomedical task leading to the death of an animal, confirming the relevance of the Better than Average Effect (BTAE) in a new research setting. So this is going to be a bit long but I'm hoping someone can tell me what's going on here. ![]()
